I got a chance to sit down with three of West Pine’s pregnant teachers, and talk to them about what it’s like to be teaching for two! Now, let’s get to the ‘juicy stuff’.

What is the hardest part of being pregnant and a teacher?

Swofford- tired by the end of the day

Werner- physical limitations in the classroom

Raynor- trying to get 6-8 weeks of lesson plans done before maternity leave

Do any of your symptoms affect you during the school day?

Swofford- morning sickness

Werner- not anymore

Raynor- tired, physical limitations

How long do you plan on taking off for maternity leave?

Swofford- 6-8 weeks

Werner- 5 weeks

Raynor- 6-8 weeks

When is your due date?

Swofford- March 8th, 2016

Werner- December 16th, 2015

Coincidence? ⇅

Raynor- December 17th, 2015

What are you planning to do for child care when your maternity leave is over?

Swofford- daycare, in-laws

Werner- mother

Raynor- no idea,

What do your students think about you being pregnant?

Swofford- don’t want her to leave

Werner- always trying to pick out a name

Raynor- not sure, probably that I’m ‘large and in charge’

BONUS QUESTION: Do you have any cravings or aversions?

Swofford- Cravings-none

Aversions- popcorn & chicken

Werner- Cravings- cake

Aversions- none

Raynor- Cravings- pickles, Oreos™ w/milk, chocolate, & macaroni w/ ketchup

I would like to thank Ms.Swofford, Ms.Werner, and Ms.Raynor for having me to interview them. It was such a pleasure.
